1. The core function of mud pump
Mud pump is the core power device to drive the circulation of drilling fluid (mud) in the drilling process, and it mainly undertakes three core tasks:
Cooling and lubrication of the drill bit: to reduce the high temperature of the friction between the drill bit and the formation through the circulation of high-pressure mud to prolong the life of the bit;
Carrying of the rock cuttings: to carry the rock cuttings crushed by the bit out of the borehole, to maintain the cleanliness of the bottomhole and prevent stuck drill;
Balancing the formation pressure: to stabilize the well wall by adjusting the mud density and preventing blowout and leakage. Carrying rock chips: to carry the rock chips broken by the drill bit out of the wellbore, keep the bottom of the well clean and prevent stuck drill; prevent blowout, well leakage and other accidents by adjusting the density of mud.
