Principle of Mini Water Drilling Rig

Flexible positioning, conquering terrain: With its powerful tracked chassis, the drilling rig can move freely and accurately position itself on mud, slopes, sand and gravel and other complex terrains to reach the predetermined well location.

Power Driven, Efficient Drilling: The high-performance diesel engine provides abundant power to drive the high-efficiency hydraulic system. The power head generates high torque and rotates at two speeds, driving the drill pipe and drill bit to cut the ground strongly.

Circulation of slag to ensure hole quality: During the drilling process, water, slurry or air is injected into the bottom of the borehole at high pressure by means of a slurry pump or an air compressor. The circulating medium cools the drill bit, lubricates the drill pipe, and continuously carries the cuttings out of the hole, keeping the well wall stable and the hole clean.

Intelligent control, precise operation: The operator can precisely adjust the drilling rig through the control platform, which saves effort and responds sensitively, realising a stable, controllable and efficient drilling process.

Continuously deepening and obtaining water: By adding drill rods one by one, the drill bit continues to drill deeper into the ground until it penetrates the target aquifer to a depth of up to 120 metres or 160 metres.

Preparation before operation

Site survey and planning
Check the geological conditions (rock hardness, depth of underground water layer) and obstacles (pipelines, rocks) in the construction area, give priority to flat and hard ground, and if necessary, use matting to reinforce soft ground.
Obtain underground aquifer data from local water authorities and plan the location of boreholes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Equipment commissioning and testing
Hydraulic system: check the hydraulic oil level and cleanliness, make sure the pressure value of the relief valve is in the factory setting range (non-professionals are strictly prohibited from adjusting it).
Track stability: adjust the track tension to avoid derailment when travelling; the inclination angle is ≤15° when working on slopes, and steep slopes need to be fixed with anchor piles.
Drilling tool assembly: make sure the threaded connection of the drill pipe is firm and the power head is aligned with the centre line of the drill pipe to prevent deviation from the hole.

Drilling process

Hole opening and drilling control
Test hole stage: use φ100mm drill bit to open the hole, speed control 80-120rpm, feed pressure ≤2MPa, record rock chip samples and analyse signs of aquifer.
Drill pipe operation specification
Adding and connecting drill pipe: stop drilling → clamping device locks the drill pipe → power head reverses 0.5 turns to unload the clasp → install new drill pipe → tighten it with positive rotation (torque value ≥2200N-m).
Anti-threading measures: the power head is forbidden to reverse (except for adding/removing drill pipe) to avoid thread loosening which will cause the drilling tools to fall.
Aquifer identification and hole formation
When gravel, water flow or sudden rise of water level is observed in the mud, immediately take samples to test the quality of aquifer;
After reaching the target depth, lower the PVC casing (φ200mm) and fill the ring gap with 3-6mm gravel (the height is 1m beyond the water filter pipe).

The key points of safety operation

Personnel protection: operators wear tight-fitting work clothes and goggles; set up a warning zone within 5 metres radius of the borehole, and non-operators are prohibited from entering.
Emergency response:
Hydraulic oil leakage → stop the machine to relieve pressure → replace the seals;
Hole wall collapse → inject bentonite slurry wall protection.
Special working conditions:
Rock fragmentation zone: reduce the feed rate, enable mud circulation wall protection;
High hardness rock layer: switch the drill bit of submerged hammer, impact frequency ≥15Hz.
